Yamaha SZ launched in India : Price, Specs & review

After launching premium and deluxe segment bikes, Yamaha has launched three new bikes like SZ, SZ-X and YBR 125 in the India. Bollywood hunk and Yamaha’s brand ambassador, John Abraham marked the launching event of Yamaha’s bikes. By keeping the rider in mind, Yamaha has designed SZ, SZ-X and YBR 125. The SZ and SZ-X bikes are powered by a 150 cc engine, while the YBR 125 is powered by a 123 cc engine. The all three bikes are priced competitively in the price range of Rs 47,000 to 52,000.

The Yamaha SZ has SOHC single cylinder, 4-Stroke air-cooled, 150cc engine and 5-speed transmission. The SZ churns out 11PS of power and 10.4Nm of torque. The bike will carry out in the growing 150cc power-commuter segment. Other 150cc premium-class bikes include FZ16, the TVS Apache RTR 160 or the Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSi.

SZ has sporty alloy wheels. The Yamaha SZ provides world-class level of built quality. The SZ appears with a kick-start while the SZ-X variant is available with an electric start but disc brakes have been omitted. The prices of the Yamaha SZ will be approximately Rs. 49,000. It appears elegant in the Red, Black and Black-Red colors.

The bike is prepared with AI System and a large-capacity muffler with catalyzer for cleaner exhaust. It has a large capacity 14L fuel tank which provides the ability to go Extra Mile. SZ has the stylish meter panel, shroud with dynamic image, modern look dual tail lights, full plastic chain case (gives protection from dust & water), robust side cover and 5-spoke cast wheel.

Mr. Yukimine Tsuji, CEO & MD of India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. said on the occasion, “The launch of SZ, SZ-X and YBR 125 is in line with Yamaha’s true commitment to provide world-class products to its customers. SZ, SZ-X and YBR125 models have been designed and engineered down to the finest details for maximum comfort of the rider. Ideal combinations of Power, Comfort & Style, SZ & SZ-X have been designed with a strong focus on quality and performance. YBR 125, on the other hand, is stylish and has good ergonomics for comfortable day-to-day commuting. We are confident that these bikes will capture the imagination of a whole generation of bikers who are looking for something extra”.

Yamaha displayed its SZ Concept at the 2010 Delhi Auto Expo. The more information or release of Yamaha SZ is not yet clear officially. This is a commuter bike estimated to hit the Indian roads by next year.

    remember this company has the policy to only sell the bikes and then back off, no customer service, no spare parts, so beware of buying any yamaha product in india. they treat indians as second rung customers. plus remember as soon as you register a yamaha bike you lose up to 50% in depreciation. very bad resale value for the same reason. so my opinion is thumbs down and boo boo to any yamaha product.

    great bike in this ranges of bike but i m looking forward to its selling….bcoz yamaha has does not ever prove their previous image after discontinue or great rx 10…..all the best yamaha india….go n find out ground levl position if u want reach on top position……undoubtedly ur model have does not any match in indian market but ur position is still down so their is somethin wrong with yamaha….i m very big fan of yamaha ….i m also associate with yamah

    Yamaha product no doubt very good but aftersales and services are very poor. I dont know what they think about Indians customer. I was having a FZ-S and my brother was having a RX-15 for 1 Years and just sold due to service and spear parts. Depriciation ofcourse is less then any other brands. Its better to look for any other brand.

    i want to purchase this bike beacuse it’s price is so cheap than any other bikes like pulsar, cbz, gs150e etc. i think yamaha is only bike they provide complete comfort than any other bikes. it’s spare part’s very much better and strong than any other bikes

    Hero honda hunk is the far better option over yamaha sz. Since this bike provide excellent comfort, safety, performance and reliability than yamaha fz. Myself is the proud owner of hunk from last 1 year.
