How to pay Tamil Nadu Electricity Board bill online?

New users have to register first on the TNEB website in order to pay bills online, so visit and click on the ‘New user’ link or registration related link on the homepage. You will be directed on the new page on which you have to press Select button next to Region under New User Registration. Select the region name based on your location. Then, enter the Consumer no without region code and hit ‘Check detail’ button. Consumer no. will be available in your previous bill or the old EB card as SC No.

You will be shown all the details about Username, Address and Service Status. If the info regarding the EB connection is correct, then press the ‘Confirm’ button. Enter user profile details and hit ‘Submit’ button. Once registration process is completed, you will receive an email for the confirmation of registration to the e-mail address mentioned during the registration. Open the link and activate your online account, and your registration process completes now.

Once you register successfully, visit the login page at and login using your credentials. Then select the consumer number, if you have more than one consumer number. Then pay your bill by selecting payment mode from Net banking, Credit Card or Debit Card and clicking on Pay bill option for the corresponding consumer number. Enter your bank or card details to complete the payment procedure. You will receive an e-receipt on successful completion of payment.

To monitor the bill payments, you should regularly check up bill status available on TNEB website. For registered consumers, a mail is created as soon as the reading is made available from the field.
