Oasis is one of the few wineries in Virginia to offer sparkling wines since 31 years. Oasis Winery can be found in select premium locations such as Relais & Chateuax prosperities to 5 star Hotels to your local wine merchant. They have the perfect microclimate for it and the family has a deep background in sparkling wine production. The Oasis setting is majestic and breathtaking as the winery visitor’s center and the vineyards overlook the US National Park/Skyline Drive.

The art of winemaking starts in the vineyard with hand nurtured grapes picked at their peak. To develop, balance and bring out the best fruit in a diverse array of tanks and French & American oak barrels is fermented. The sight from the winery is like a mural painted by Mother Nature; a vista of row after row of vineyards situate on gently rolling hills, with a attractive water fountain centering out of the lake, surrounded by the majestic mountains towering behind, offering chilly gentle breezes on Oasis award-winning viticultural practices.

In Virginia, Tareq Salahi and his father together planted hand some of the first Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines in the year 1977. A graduate of the University of California, Tareq Salahi is a founder of Oasis. Mr. Tareq Salahi sub-focused in sparkling wines and has extensive experience working Taittinger, Domaine Carneros of Napa Valley, Australia, South Africa and returned to the family vineyards to take Oasis to a new level.

I am really interested in the taste and quality of the wines after seeing the behavior and antics of the vintor. I am also curious to know exactly what “University of CA” he attended, considering there are over 20 universities currently using the UC standard branding.
