It is around 30 ft (9 m) deep and to enter the lodge, visitors have to scuba dive 21ft through a lagoon before they even get to step or swim through an entrance at the bottom of the hotel.
Jules Verne made this Jules Undersea Lodge and was opened in 1986. Earlier Jules’ Undersea Lodge was a marine lab as per the official website. Currently the lodge has two bedrooms and one bath retreat and it is the world’s first underwater hotel. To visit this underwater wonder it will cost $375 per night per person and for a couple it is $1275. For couples it is definitely a Romantic Gateway Package. Also The Jules Undersea Lodge is obtainable for underwater weddings, with a wedding package that consist of flowers and the only underwater wedding cake.
For couples who plan to start their married life with a touch of the outrageous but still enjoys traditional sentiments, the unique setting is perfect for them. Each room main feature is the large, 106 cm (42 inch) round window that looks out into the sea. While the visitors looking out into the murky beyond, the fish are looking in at them. The mangrove lagoon is a natural nursery area for many reef fish. Tropical angelfish, parrotfish, barracuda and snappers peek in the windows of the habitat, while anemones, sponges, oysters and feather-duster worms seem to cover every inch of this underwater world. Guests explore their marine environment with scuba gear provided by the Lodge and are given an unlimited supply of tanks.
If you are not certified and would like to stay in the hotel, then Jules’ offers a package of different dive classes. You have the choice of learning just enough to get you safely into the hotel, or you can become fully open water certified or even get an advanced certification. The whole building is only 600-square-feet and consists of air conditioning, hot showers, and a well-stocked kitchen. The multipurpose common room has a microwave, refrigerator, sink, dining area, telephone, intercom, television, VCR, DVD player, and stereo sound system. There is common room which provides a good view of the surrounding sea life.
