Sela Ward replaces Melina Kanakarede in CSI NY

An American police procedural television series Crime Scene Investigation at New York is known as CSI NY. This series premiered on September 22, 2004, on CBS. Melina Kanakarede, who is the cast of this series and play role as a Det. Stella Bonasera, leaving CSI after working in six seasons, CBS has announced. They also declared that, the new cast Sela Ward replaces Melina Kanakarede. Ward will make first manifestation in the season premiere when the show starts on Fridays at 9:00 PM this fall.

CSI show pursues the investigations of a team of NYPD forensic scientists. The police officers as they make public the circumstance behind mysterious and abnormal deaths as well as other crimes. CBS Television Network and CBS Television Studios said in a statement, “She will forever remain a friend to the network and studio and we wish her the very best.”

After working in 140 episodes, 2004-2010, Melina Kanakarede has decided to Not to renew the contract for seven season of CSI. Expect Kanakaredessome other casts also leave this series in this seasonlike Liz Vassey, Eddie Cibrian, A.J. Cook. Melina Kanakarede broadly recognized for her two roles. One is, U.S. prime-time television drama series role as a ‘Detective Stella Bonasera’ in CSI: NY. Other is, playing and portraying Dr. Sydney Hansen in Providence.

Sela Ward, who turned in 54, worked in a Drama Series in 1994 and 2000 and won Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actress. She got award in 1994 for ‘Sisters’ and the second one in 2000 for ‘Once and again.’ She also won Golden Globe for the latter role in 2001. Her television credits include a recurring role on House, and the telefilms Suburban Madness and Almost Golden: The Jessica Savitch Story. She also played the role in the films such as The Guardian, The Day After Tomorrow and The Fugitive.

Sela Ward will play role in the CSI as an “an experienced investigator from Washington, D.C., whose work is driven by her empathy for the victim.” She will be perform the new partner of Gary Sinise‘s character, Detective Mac Taylor.

“We are delighted to have Sela joining CSI: NY, “With the exciting stories planned for Season 7, she’ll be a dynamic addition to the cast and the team,” said Executive Producer Pam Veasey.

The show is shaped by CBS Television Studios in connection with Jerry Bruckheimer Productions. The executive producers are Jerry Bruckheimer, Anthony E. Zuiker, Jonathan Littman, Carol Mendelsohn, Ann Donahue and Pam Veasey.

    at least get her NAME RIGHT! it’s “Kanakaredes”, NOT Kanakarede. not like a typo or anything….you continued to spell her name wrong. geez……

    Very disappointed that Melina Kanakarede has left the show, show Sela Ward on tonights eppisode and she will have to become a little stronger personality to make this part her own.
