Two contestants of singing reality show, Rahul Saxena and Apurva Gajjala were injured in yesterday accident that occurred on the Jalna-Aurangabad highway in Maharashtra. In this accident, a sound recordist, Uday Dantale was died on the spot.
Rohidas Jadhav, officer of Jalna sub-district police station said, that the mishap was taken place when Rahul Saxena and Apurva Gajjala were coming from Jalna for Aurangabad after a Thursday 16 September night musical performance with Uday Dantale, a sound recordist. Their car smashed with the truck.
Former popular singing reality show Indian Idol participant, Rahul had sustained minor injuries and now he is under treatment in a Jalna hospital, his singing partner Apoorva Gajjala was very badly injured and she is in coma at the S.N. Dhoot Hospital in nearby Aurangabad district. Her condition was confirmed to be very critical.
Jadhav said that the driver Deepak Ghorpade was also hurt and is taking treated in Aurangabad.
In Indian Idol 2006, Rahul was one of the top 10 singers and Apoorva Gajjala was the front-runners in the Zee Marathi Sa Re Ga Ma Pa music competition before a few years. Both Saxena and Gajjala come to the non-Marathi family but both are highly praised for their Marathi pronunciations and singing.
