Last night, the judges were not much pleased or even no happy after comic Margaret Cho and Louis van Amstel danced a samba to the Barry Manilow’s song “Copacabana” in “Dancing With the Stars” season 11 Week 3. Cho dressed up with tall yellow feathered headdress and a fringed, one-shouldered, rainbow dress topped for the gay pride theme. Because of lacking many areas, the dancing couple has received only 18 points out of 30 through judges panel.
On Monday, the third week of Dancing with the Stars show was aired on ABC network. All contestants were ready with their wacky costumes for their crazy sets. This week the contestants danced on Waltz, Samba, or Foxtrot.
When Team van Cho, Margaret and Louis were performed a Samba to Barry Manilow’s “Copacabana” on the stage, the judges were not impressed. Their danced a Samba was energetic with Margaret shaking a frilly rainbow-flagged, flamenco-inspired, hot tranny mess, and featured an explosive finale with apparently tons of streamers raining from the sky in a story about gay pride. At all times, Margaret dances with joy and abandon. Unhappily, a lack of control and off timing, the panel of three judges gave 18 points (Carrie Ann – 6, Len – 6, Bruno – 6) out a possible 30.
Margaret Cho is one of the today’s most successful stand-up comediennes. She performed her first performance at her native San Francisco at just age of 16. Her best-selling tours consist of the off-Broadway hit/concert film I’m the One That I Want, Notorious C.H.O., Revolution, and Beautiful. Currently she is starring her role as contestant of the 11th season of Dancing with the Stars with her professional Partner is Louis Van Amstel.
Top team of dancer from last two week of the show, Jennifer and Derek kicked off the night with a sexy teacher telling off her not-too-unhappy student in a Samba, team Baby Derek got 24 points. The second dancing team, Florence and Corky received a standing acclaim for their waltz to “Edelweiss” from The Sound of Music. The judges loved the emotion, but actually being “sweet” was not enough. They earned 20 points for their dance. Kurt and Anna danced on Foxtrot to “Bad Day”. Len and Carrie Ann liked the dance, the lyricism, the emotion, but Bruno had a lot of troubles with Kurt’s flying hands, even they got solid score 23 points.
The team of Audrina and Tony were danced on heartfelt Waltz, a tribute to the families of fallen soldiers that was as touching as it was specific. The 26 points are given for their performance. Bristol and Mark’s Foxtrot also not impressed the judges too much and got 19 points. During the Samba performance of Brandy and Mak, Maks was played Brandy’s bodyguard, however Len did not observe him protecting her at all. The pair earned 24 points.
Kyle and Lacey carried on attracting the pants off the audience and the judges with smooth Waltz. As last week, they earned 23 points. While Mike “the Situation” & Karina’s Foxtrot with to Black Eyed Peas “Boom Boom Pow” performed, the judges confused and they gave 20 points to them. Lastly, Rick and Cheryl came on the stage with a hot and sexy love story that riled up the audience and the judges alike and got their highest score 24 points.
