One of the original cast members of The Hills, Lauren Conrad is back in business on MTV’s new reality show. With a brand new reality show, Lauren Conrad tries to shine brighter than her former co-star Audrina Patridge. The name of the show will be declared next week. It will be telecasted in mid-October.
The blond beauty is getting own reality show, and multiple networks have been “fighting over it,” According to an US Weekly source. Lauren Conrad assurances that this show is not similar to The Hills and it won’t include much of her private life. Her career in fashion will be followed by the new show of Lauren, focus on her work, designs and business ventures. “The only way I’d return to reality TV would be if it allowed me to decide when the cameras stop,” she told the mag. “My professional life is more interesting.”
Actor Kyle Howard, who is her current boyfriend, will not be featured on the show. LC has continued to expand her growing empire, since her “Hills” departure in March of 2009. The 24-year-old has a Kohl’s fashion line (and another collection on the way), two best-selling novels, with a third novel and a fashion guide about to be released. There is life after The Hills for some of The Hills alumni that are shown in the timing of her announcement. Conrad came out of the experience practically squeaky clean compared to her fellow costars.
Currently, fellow cast-mate Audrina Patridge is a participator on ‘Dancing With the Stars’. Partridge and Conrad met when Lauren Conrad and her best friend Heidi Montag moved into the same apartment building where Audrina Patridge was living. From her MTV show, the 24-year-old starlet found international fame but she became popular as Hollywood powerhouse after her best-selling books.
Lauren Conrad told MTV News at the time “I wouldn’t do a show like ‘The Hills,’”. “Nothing with my personal life, but possibly something hosting. I think I have a little bit of time to figure out what I’m going to do next.” In February, she said that while she wasn’t ready to make the leap back to the small screen, she wouldn’t rule out behind-the-scenes opportunities. “The only other thing I’d love to do right now is producing,” she explained. “I’m just kind of looking for the perfect project because I think the first thing I do I really have to love, so I want to wait until I really have enough time to commit to a series.”
She returns in the front of camera because the project turned out to be her own documentary series. “I am so excited to be rejoining the MTV family,” Lauren said in a statement about her new TV venture. “The new project will follow me as I develop my new contemporary line and also touch on my other businesses.” At least LC has one great lesson she learned from her previous forays into reality TV. “I didn’t learn a thing! I’m the same as I went in,” she joked back in July. “I learned not to take yourself seriously!”
