On 15th September 2010, Donna Summer Performed with Prince Poppycock on Final show of America’s Got Talent. The finalists performed with their favorites like Prince Poppycock sang a duet with Donna Summer, Michael Grimm with Jewel, Jackie Evancho with Sarah Brightman and Fighting Gravity performed with Lionel Ritchie joining in singing. The Final show of America’s Got Talent was of 2 hours and featured performances from Usher, the Goo Goo Dolls and the cast members of Cirque du Soleil, David Copperfield, and a surprise performance from T-Pain.
Prince Poppycock came to national attention when he competed on the fifth season of America’s Got Talent. On September 15, 2010, he was voted fourth place in the final four. John Andrew Quale is an American singer, songwriter who creates a stage character Prince Poppycock in America’s Got Talent and is well-known by it. He specializes in musical theater and opera, describes Prince Poppycock on his website as a “roguish operatic dandy.”
On NBC’s reality television talent show series America’s Got Talent, Quale auditioned and became one of the top four finalists who features singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and other performers of all ages competing for the advertised top prize of US $1 million, and a show as the headliner on the Las Vegas Strip. “Prince Poppycock is one of the most unusual contestants in the show’s history” said The Tampa Tribune. At that time they noted that he has been called “a male Lady Gaga and the Adam Lambert of America’s Got Talent, and that he “may be the most innovative act since Pee-wee Herman”.
He had given an outstanding numbers of performances throughout the season. The performances include a medley of “The Star-Spangled Banner“, “The Yankee Doodle Boy“, and “The Stars And Stripes Forever”. he quoted from the second sentence of the United States’ “Declaration of Independence” , a sweeping statement of individual human rights, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal …” While he spoke, images of Abraham Lincoln, Susan B. Anthony, Harvey Milk, and Rosa Parks were shown in the middle of the season.
Prince Poppycock stated that he plans to have a more emotionally connected performance for the Final 4 show, “I feel it’s a strength that I have as a performer that hasn’t really been showcased as much because I’ve been focused so much on spectacle for America’s Got Talent. I’ll still bring spectacle, but hopefully an emotionally resonant performance as well.”
