About Jai Narain Vyas University:
On 24th August, 1962, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the President of India inaugurated Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur as University of Jodhpur. It is situated in Jodhpur city in Indian state of Rajasthan. The following four Government Colleges of Jodhpur became part of the University:
- MBM Engineering College (now Faculty of Engineering with 11 Departments),
- Jaswant College (now Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies with 04 Departments),
- S.M.K. College (now Faculty of Law and Campus of Institute of Evening Studies and also being used presently for Under graduate teaching of Faculty of Arts. This also houses Coaching Centre for Weaker Sections),
- K.N. College for Women (The multi-faculty constituent college of the University)
Accredited with “A” grade by the NAAC, this is the only residential University in the State of Rajasthan, catering mainly the needs of students of western Rajasthan (the Marwar). This University is situated in the great Indian Thar Desert so its R&D activities centered on heritage, society and challenges of the region. This is the Western most University of the country and imparts education and conducts research in border areas neighboring Pakistan.
Candidates can deposit Registration Fee of Rs. 2,000 at any CBS branch of Bank of Baroda or Central Bank of India, if they have allotted Counseling Serial Number, on or before 18th August, 2010. Registration & Choice fill will be commenced from 20th August, 2010.
