Popular south Indian (Tamil) actor Murali passed away in Chennai on Wednesday due to cardiac arrest at a private hospital in Chennai.
Murali was of 46 years old. Lastly he breathed his last at 4.00 am due to a cardiac failure. He is survived by wife Shobha, son Atharva and daughter. After developing sudden illness he was admitted to a hospital on the outskirts of Chennai.
Murali complained about chest pain then immediately taken to the hospital but he didn’t respond well to the treatment. His death body was taken back to his Valsaravakkam residence and was kept for public homage.
In 1984 with the film ‘Poovilangu’, he started his acting career though he made his debut in Kannada. He acted along side actors like Thespian Sivaji Ganesan, Vijayakanth, Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Mammootty, Prabhu Deva, and Parthiban.
By acting in ‘Idhayam’, he earned laurels and got immense fame. He also acted in the super hit movie ’Puthu Vasantham’. He also got appreciation from ‘Thanga Manusukkaran’, ‘Alli Thanda Vanam’, ‘En Asai Machan’, ‘Poomani’, ‘Porkaalam’, ‘Sundara Travels’, etc.
In 2001, he got the Tamil Nadu best actor award for his performance in ‘Kadal Pookal’. He last acted in ‘Baana Kaathadi’ as a cameo role which is the maiden venture of his son Atharva.
He later acted in Kannada films such as Sambavami Yuge Yuge, Ajay Vijay and Prem Gange. The film Ajay was his superhit Kannada movie of the time. His famous song “Hero Hero Naane Naane” will be remembered forever because this song is very popular. His sudden death is a big loss to the South Indian films as well as shock for his fans.
