It’s disappointing to see that Maruti would be packing a 1.2 litre engine for a six seater.Agreed that the vehicle would be efficient but it would be grossly underpowered..There should be atleast a 1.5 litre engine with a power output of over 110 BHP.All other contenders in that category have a similar powered engine.

Car looks good. But being a competitior to Innova, Xylo and Sumo Grande will there be a consideration in reduced price as well???

  3. Thomas Chacko says:

I wish Maruti installed a bigger engine in this. More powerful one for the size of the car! I have a SX4 ZXi and I love the car.

  4. Ansh says:

1.2 lt engine disappointing for MUV.People have become smarter now a days. Just compare Xylo and Innova(both have a 2.5lt engine) with 1.2lt car.Looks alone dont sell.Maruti just offset a little profit u earn by paying lower duties on 1.2lt engine and give a powerful heart to your cars or u’ll be history in no time!

Yeah mates ,i do agree with you on the engine part .
    Why a 1.2LT engine ?
The car does look gr8 ,but with a 1.2LT engine ,it sure seems headed south .

  6. Alf Rodricks says:

The R3 has an uncanny resemblance to Opel’s Meriva; Is MERIVA the production version of the R3? Is Maruti supplying the R3 and OPEL badging it as the Meriva just like the Splash/Ritz is badged as Opel’s Aquila? Maruti definitely can have more engine options for the R3, including diesel versions from FIAT or VW engines.
