HP Palmpad WebOS Tablet: Specs, Release Date and Review

HP’s PalmPad webOS based tablet is having apparently gained a name and steadily receiving fleshed out with hardware capabilities. As per reporter, a dual-mode touchscreen combined with Wacom active digitizer with a finger-friendly multitouch capacitive layer will be used in HP.

For perfect drawing and text entry, PalmPad users can navigate with their fingers while also using a special pen stylus. PalmPad is believed to be Windows 7 powered. HP will launch over one product line. Besides this, rumors also come out about HP will move away from Google Android powered and Windows 7 version of its tablet. TWith HP’s acquisition of the Palm for a billion dollars these rumors became even stronger.

In fact, HP bought the Palm using billions for a particular reason, its webOS which will be the focus of HP’s portable computer business in the future. The WebOS tablet, first named “Hurricane”, might soon have PalmPad as its official name, but not confirmed.

The company will launch a capacitive touch screen that also identifies a digital ‘wacom’ pen, more like its TX/TM Series Notebooks. Notes-taking will be easy on the upcoming tablet. The PalmPad tablet can be launched as early as Q1 2011. Mobile OS for tablet devices or computers provide superior battery life and decreases costs.

Apple will absolutely keep an attention on HP’s plans for the PalmPad and so will google. There have been no details regarding its released date as well. We will just have to wait for HP’s official announcement. But some strongly believes that a new tablet called the Palmpad is set to unveil in the very near future.

HP Vice President Todd Bradley said:

“We have already announced the expansion of our product portfolio. We will have a webOS PalmPad run, which is set to the product launch for early 2011th”.

Though, HP palmpad specifications have not been unveiled but the Industry insiders told that the Palmpad will have seven-inch touch screen, besides the WLAN, GPS, and UMTS.
